Mermaid Magic

This is in honor of my dear friend Lorna Molina, who left this world too soon . She will be missed for sure!

In 2007 my art gallery was open on Sundays. One day an angel/mermaid came to visit. Lorna and I had many common interests. We would connect our friends, gathering them for breakfast or dinner. It helped to navigate the waters of separation/ divorce. Our love of water and nature, dance, song, the arts, and healthy cooking created many happy memories.

I had come from the island of Rhodes and Lorna from Hawaii and Bali. One Halloween our mermaid trio was formed. Me, Lorna, Amber, and I, the three mermaids would meet to do water things. That 91x event that we attended and wore seaweed dripping from the ocean was epic! Or the time it was Mother’s Day and everyone was looking for us and we had gone for an impromptu swim at Torrey Pines! I got to know her family and she met mine. She brought a sense of family and tradition to my life. Both our grandmothers would sing “ You are my Sunshine” and we actually went to a ukelele group that was singing that! Her family also embodies her adventurous spirit. We said goodbye to her son Josh this summer and now we send you Lorna back with the angels. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid031KZgGcbXXq3U4idsKWnGahw5sGXnRyiVhNnxENLk3mp2zxvQWrZwUN7RSgzHibEsl&id=627946008
